Covid 19 update
To our Patients,
We hope you and your families are all well.
We have now received clear guidance as to how we can re-open our dental surgery on 8th June 2020 and which services we can safely provide during the Covid pandemic.
We have summarised the guidance for you below but as we are all aware, Government advice is changing daily and usually without any prior notice.
We will endeavour to keep you informed as regularly as possible.
The Government has set out five Coronavirus Alert Levels 1-5 (low to high) relating to the risk posed.
As you will know, we are currently at level 4 (transmission is high) with the hope of transitioning to level 3 (virus in general circulation)
Dentistry as you will be aware is a particularly high risk environment for patients and staff.
Over the last 10 weeks, the team at GSDP have been training for the re-opening of the practice, taking into account the Standard Operating Procedures recommended by Public Health England and our governing bodies including infection control protocols and the levels of PPE required.
For this reason, and so we can guarantee the safety of our patients and team, there will be a limit to treatments that can be carried out from 8th June 2020- these will include face to face assessments including X-rays, dressing of decayed and fractured teeth, routine extractions, temporary replacement of crowns, repairs and adjustments of dentures and obviously, continued triaging and antibiotic prescribing as we see fit.
Over the next few weeks, we will phone or email each patient that has contacted us with a dental emergency during our closure and we will be looking to book an assessment appointment for those patients from the week beginning 8th June.
Those patient will be sent information regarding their new appointment.
Due to social distancing measures, we must limit the number of patients in the building, therefore, the main entrance to the practice will be locked at all times.
All routine treatments (check ups, hygiene, crowns, fillings, implants) will continue to be postponed and we will contact you again when the time arrives.
Therefore, unless you have a dental emergency or have been contacted by the practice, then we would respectively ask you to keep our phone lines clear and not call.
General enquiries can be emailed to [email protected] and a member of the team will respond.
We appreciate your patience during this unprecedented time and hope you all remain safe.
Thank you from
Hannah McKinnon and Heather Ryves
